Trinity 2021 President's Welcome

Welcome or welcome back to a new term with Oxford Women in Business!

I hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well. It has been a tough year in many respects but it seems that we are finally beginning to see some light at the end of a very long tunnel. In spite of this, OxWIB remains committed to providing our members with opportunities, insight, and knowledge.

Over the Easter vacation, the OxWIB committee has worked incredibly hard to bring about an amazing termcard. As always, we want to expand the meaning of ‘business’ to include creative industries as well as the traditional “Oxford” careers. Our upcoming ‘Women in Fashion’, ‘Women in Music’, and ‘Women in Tech’ panels will leave you spoilt for choice! For our budding entrepreneurs, we will also be holding a start-up masterclass in collaboration with the Oxford Hub. To keep you empowered and fulfilled, come along to our professionally led Confidence Workshop. Finally, we’re excited to introduce you to our Inspirational Women: Fanny Bourdette-Donon of Dior Beauty, Jacqueline Gold of Ann Summers and and the fabulous mother-daughter duo, Yara and Keri Shahidi.

Bearing in mind that Trinity is exam term as well as the first time in many months that the majority of us will be together in Oxford, we wanted to put a greater focus on our membership events. As well as giving you the opportunity to interact with inspirational women, OxWIB also serves as a hub to connect ambitious women across the University of Oxford. Our bi-monthly drop-ins which include a picnic in the park and a yoga session will give you the opportunity to meet and get to know like-minded young women in an informal setting. We are also hoping to host the renowned President’s Drinks in Week 9. The tickets are free but limited and are known to sell out in seconds - so keep an eye out for that!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Trinity Term committee for their tireless efforts to make this the best term of OxWIB yet. It’s been a pleasure to work with you all and I am so appreciative of everything that you’ve done. As for our members, I wish you all a safe and successful Trinity Term and I look forward to meeting you at our upcoming events!
